After researching an issue with my Macy's credit card account, here is what I have determined:
1. Macy's has a 31 day billing cycle.in my opinion, this is done to obfuscate the day the payment is due month to month and put the burden on customer's to know the revolving due date and track this one card.
2. Macy's has a $35 late fee. Cha-ching!
3. Macy's charges $14.95 to make a payment over the phone. Cha-ching!
4. Macy's is charging me 24.5% interest APR.
Bottom-line: It is our fault as consumers for putting up with this gauging and becoming Macy's debt slaves. Ben Franklin was right: "Neither a borrower or a lender be." Time to pay off, close the account and cut up this card.
