Complaint / review text:
Intuit both Quicken and QuickBooks for Apple/Mac computers are major disappointments. I am a user of both, (personal and business).
With the upgrade of Apple/Mac OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6. X Intuit sent out an email advising they would be releasing a new version of Quicken for Macs in the Spring of 2011... I received one... NO SUCH RELEASE!
Yes, there is Quicken Essentials though doesn't offer the same depth for investment tracking. (Also I have quite a negative history with going from WIndows PC's to Mac and data conversion.
Recently I received another email from Intuit saying it will no longer support QuickBooks 2009 and I definitely had the impression (perhaps in error) QuickBooks wouldn't be available ongoing for Macs.
Anyone have any idea where or why these decisions are being made? Like Adobe Flash Player has Apple and Intuit gotten embroiled in some type of dispute? Or is Intuit simply dropping Apple/Mac support? What is REALLY going on? As a consumer who has used Quicken for more than 20 years an HONEST explanation would be appreciated given my loyalty... But apparently loyalty no longer matters to Intuit (and Apple).
