I have been shopping at Target and Wal-Mart more often for groceries and home supplies since the regular stores prices have increased. I have spent a lot of money at Target. I went to the Lemon Grove Target and purchased groceries and air freshener. When I got home, I noticed that the clerk never put the air freshener in my bag. Now, any other store including Wal-Mart would gladly just replace the item that was paid for, but missing. Since Lemon Grove Target is out of my way from my work to home, I stopped at the Mission Valley Target. Customer Service at MV Target said that I would have to drive all the way over to Lemon Grove Target to get a new one, that it was store policy. Since when is it store policy to hassle the customer? I asked to speak to a Manager and spoke with three Managers who all said the same thing. One even said they would have to look at the security cameras as if I was lying even though it was on my receipt. I had to wait 15 minutes while each manger came to the service desk. Target needs to learn a little about customer service from places like Vons, etc. The air freshener can that they could have gave me cost $2.99! And, I've spend hundreds of dollars at Target. If Target was so interested about inventory, they could have called Lemon Grove Target and did an exchange over the telephone. There is a transaction id on my receipt, too. Please pass this along to all people you know who shop at Target until they change these un-customer friendly draconian rules against their loyal customers.
