Complaint / review text:
On March 29th, I ordered 18 items on-line and paid for the truck delivery service. I received an email stating that everything was ready for delivery on April 11th.
When the truck arrived, it only had 11 of the items. I called to locate the other 7 items and was told that I would receive a call back. I waited 2 days - no call back. So I called again - same answer; same result.
I called again and was given a case number and was told I'd receive a call back. No call back after 3 days. I called a fourth time and was finally given a new order number for the missing items. No one knew why they weren't shipped/received.
I had to call the next day (fifth time) to get delivery information on the new order. I was told it was going to be delivered on or about May 1st. That was too late so I requested expedited shipping. I was told that the shipment couldn't be expedited.
I asked for a refund of my delivery charge, and was offered a refund of only half of the charge since I received half of the shipment. I escalated my concerns to the third level, and finally Nicole, a manager, agreed to refund my delivery charge. She cancelled my order and I will have to go to the local store to get the items. After she cancelled my order, she said she could have tried to "pull some strings" to get the order expedited, but couldn't guarantee arrival date.
However, it was too late to do that since she already cancelled my order. Since everything is paid for at the time of order, I have to wait for a refund. Most on-line companies don't charge until the item is shipped.in this case, Ikea has no clue what is shipping and when.
Be forewarned if you order on-line and purchase truck delivery services.
Even if you receive an email stating that it will be delivered, all of your items may not be on the truck.
