My wife and I hired a moving company Blair movers and storage, they are part of the Atlas family. The representative came through our home and gave us a quote for services to pack us and move us from Forsyth Georgia to Cheyenne Wyoming. The quote was less that $10,000 and we thought we could save more money so we sold a large portion of furniture and items to lighten the load. A few days before moving day the representative came back and looked around again, and this time the quote was over $1800 higher, she explained the increase in fuel cost for summer fuel for the trucks. Having no options now this close we agreed and paid half as requested.
The movers came in as scheduled boxed the items and then following after that the Atlas truck arrived. The driver explained that the clients in anothe rlocation went over their alloted space in the truck and that we would have to have our items that wont fit on the primary truck onto an overflow truck. He state " it will be there no later that a few days behind us" what choice do we have since most our house is packed on the first truck other than to agree.
We were then notified by the representative at Blair that the Atlas driver will not leave the state until payment in full is rendered. Again we thought this to be odd but we had no choice out stuff was packed on two trucks.
The first part of the move went great we left on a friday May 17 2013, we arrived in Cheyenne at our new home on the 19th, the first truck arrived on the 20th, they unloaded and explained our "overflow truck" would arrive soon.
That was now three weeks ago going on four. We are told Atlas cannot arrange for a driver to pick this up and deliver it, we are told that it is not profitable for a driver to deliver it and Atlas cannot make a driver haul it to us. We are not given a date when it can be delivered. We are told they are working on it.in the meantime I am at a loss of business tools and equipment, and to a fee of replacement over $35,000. I have begged them to deliver it and nothing. I have threatened to file a loss or damaged claim to find out that they are the say on what they will replace or refund. The shipment has been paid in full and I am out a lot of items including a Honda 4 wheeler, a VTwin 98 Cubic inch cruiser, all my tools, my air compressor a generator, antique furniture and tools for wood working, all my gardening tools and lawn equipment.
I am being raped, ripped off etc, and there is no one to help. Apparently they learned from the Obama administration and apparently it is ok to decieve and take advantage of people.
My contract # with Atlas is HQ625751. I dont know what can be done but I am out and no one at Atlas is helping.
