Complaint / review text:
During the years of 2007-2009, I attended Katharine Gibbs school for Fashion Design and Merchandising. After about a year into the program, I was informed that the school would be closing down its NYC campus. I was also informed that I would receive job placement, which never happened. I was told by my financial aid advisor that all my credits were transferable and I would be able to continue my education after the school had closed. Now I am having the most difficult time finding colleges that will accept my credits.
I owe over $46,000 in student loans with only an associate degree that means nothing. My student loans are about $450 a month, which is half of my rent. What am I to do about this? This is not fair. I really feel like a second chance should be given to those that had to work so hard in this school and paid so much money to attend to ultimately have nothing to show for this.
