Booked hotel via Alaskaair.com. Alaskaair website takes you to Orbitz for hotel booking. Hotel was booked, confirmed and paid for (money drawn out of my bank account) on 4/22/13. My travel plans start 8/10. On 8/7/13, I received an email from Orbitz telling me that the hotel could not accommodate my reservation. I have since learned that Orbitz was notified on 4/22/13 by the hotel that they were booked. I can't get a straight answer as to how I can book, confirm and pay for a hotel room that was never available. I had specifically researched and chosen this hotel due to travelling with children and had requested a specific room type. Orbitz answer was to move me to a non-kid friendly hotel and not accommodate my room request. Advise anyone making travel arrangements to go directly to the hotel and bypass these travel websites all together. This expereince has been a nightmare for me and my family. By the way, don't ask Alaska Airlines to take any responsiblity - they seem to be perfectly fine with Orbitz damaging their reputation! Don't trust any of these websites!
