Complaint / review text:
I purchased the Lexington 94 Inch Entertainment Center through iFurn.com. Upon delivery, I asked that the item be unpacked. Although all of the packaging was perfect, there was a gaping scratch along the top of the piece. I refused delivery and sent it back. Weeks later, I have had yet another failed delivery attempt due to damage, and have yet to receive it in proper form. The worst part is that the communication between iFurn, Modloft, and the shipper is nonexistent. Each time I am told one party will contact another, I follow up with the other party a day later and find that no such communication was made.
Until I lose the ability to be refunded, I will not claim I have lost money here. What I have lost is time. I do not have time to order a new TV stand, and can no longer keep making myself available to be home when the next attempt to deliver a solid piece of furniture is made. I am further aggravated by the fact that I am being consistently lied to, and that Modloft keeps telling me that I shouldn't even be contacting them and placing the blame elsewhere. I don't care whose fault it is. What I care about is that a piece of clearly damaged furniture could be passed through "quality control" and then sent to the consumer with the hope that the consumer won't be smart enough to open the box before the delivery service leaves.
I have contacted sites other than iFurn and consumers who have used them, and the problem appears to exist no matter where you buy from.in fact, iFurn's customer service has been the most accommodating of any of the parties I have dealt with. I am therefore going to assume that at least a good portion of the blame lies on the manufacturer. I am not here to try to run Modloft out of business. I am here to try and get Modloft's attention. Apparently there is no way to expedite shipping of the replacement item, while other consumers continue to purchase it online. If priority can't be given to someone in my position, how can a company claim to have any form of "customer service"?
Modloft, if you plan on replying to this, please leave a name and extension I can call. I would be happy to communicate with you directly if given the opportunity.
