I purchased a Dyson DC239 over 2 yrs now. Last July 2013 I tried to elicit a response from the CEO regarding the very poor customer service I had experienced. I sent the vacuum in and when it was returned the long floor handle had been left out. The transition from carpet to floor did not work effeciently and something scratched my hardwood floors. I sent the parts of my vacuum that were returned to me to the Dyson HQ in Chicago and to date have had no response. I first thought I could use the vacuum just on my carpet but when you read the warranty it is stated that it is not guarenteed on CERTAIN carpets but those types were not identified. If I had read the instruction manual carefully and the warranty carefully I would not have purchased that particular model. I used one Dyson in the UK satisfactorily for several years.
