On July 5,2013 I purchased an 18" Ryobi gas trimmer from our Honesdale Home Depot. The purchase price was $136.74. This gas trimmer would not start easily from the first time we used it. On the rare ocassion it did start it would not continue to run. Given the 3 yr warranty, I returned the trimmer for a refund. I was informed the trimmer had to returned to an authorized dealer. I clearly stated that I would not pay for any charges as it was under a 3 year warranty. Now for the return of the gas trimmer the charge is $60.88 which Home Depot will discount by 10%!! How generous! I am outraged by the treatment I have received by both Home Depot and Ryobi. After numerous correspondences with Ryobi and Home Depot, I did obtain information that the filter and cover was omitted from Ryobi 18" gas trimmers at the factory which makes this product a manufactured defective product! This fact was revealed after my husband was accused of using dirty gas in the gas trimmer. Neither Ryobi or Home Depot stand behind there products. Not one employee or manager at our local Home Depot could even explain what repairs were done to the trimmer or what the charges represented when we were contacted that the trimmer had been serviced. I will not purchased another Ryobi product nor will I ever purchase a warranty product at Home Depot. Also buyer beware that Home Depot has only a 30 day return policy so if one is purchasing a product as a gift this 30 day policy needs to be taken in to consideration.
