Complaint / review text:
I am a pensioner and having difficulty getting a refund due to me from SARS. My tax return was submitted during June. I received a Income tax ITSA from my accountant dated the 15th July that funds are due to me.
I followed up in August with SARS to be told its pending an audit. Subsequently, every two weeks from then on and each time I am told, either they are waiting supporting documents (which is hand delivered to SARS) and again pending audits. This is the 2nd or 3rd audit done on 5th November and told that we have to wait a further 60 days. I was told the same facts 60 days ago.
As a pensioner it is important to me to get these funds with XMAS around the corner. I am told I CANNOT ESCALATE (it seems we will be put on hold again).
Where to from here??
