I have used USPS Priority Mail and Priority Express probably 50 times in the last five years. Based on my experience, USPS' services can not be relied on to accurately track your package. The tracking updates online will mislead you and there will never be an employee who can help you locate your package. If you are shipping important materials, I would only use a private courier (like FedEx, UPS, etc).
My current Priority Express - 1 Day package was shipped on March 4th and was reported as "Available for Pickup" on March 7th. I went into the post office on March 9th and was told it wasn't there. My previous Priority Express - 1 Day package was delivered while I was home waiting for it but the deliverer just left a notice saying no one one was there to authorize delivery. I was literally waiting around inside for the delivery and the deliverer made no attempt to get my attention.
On a positive note, I have never had a package completely lost. However, I have had a lot of time sensitive materials not delivered on time. I have also never received any help for finding late packages. Going forward, I will never use USPS for another package that must be delivered within 3 days. The Priority Mail products are not worth paying for.
