Life partner permit

Complaint / review text:
I applied for my life partner permit on 03rd January in Springs. I was disappointed from the service from the offset; my partner and I were sent away several times for not having all our documents, despite having what was asked of us on the form. Each time we were sent away they sent us away they would just say that a particular thing was missing, without spending the time to go through the WHOLE application and see if there were anything else missing. Because of this we went back and forward to the Springs office, (which is nowhere near were we were saying, but the Edenvale, Germiston and Central Johannesburg were very dismissive) at least five times when submitting my application, often sitting in the queue for up to 3 hours.

Upon submitting my application I was told that these kind if temporary residents permits take up to 30days to complete, it is now almost 6 months since I submitted the application. Every time I ring the Springs office the phone is never answered. I phone the customer service department daily, and are always told it's in the adjudication hub - I've been told that since February, and still no update - despite the fact that the customer services tell me that they are "following it up." I was even told many times that nobody in the adjudication hub has been assigned to it as yet; leading me to believe that it has sat idle there for 4months. I do have a case open, even though it doesn't seem to make any difference!

I'm flying home to the UK at the beginning of July, and I'm worried that I won't be allowed back into South Africa with my receipt; I was told by customer services that I need a letter from an immigration officer - after visiting Edenvale office yesterday I was told that I need to visit the Johannesburg or Germiston office. I've tried 4 different extensions to try and book and appointment, and what a surprise, no answer!

I have tried to escalate to senior members of the department - it doesn't exactly fill you with hope when you are in the middle of a conversation, and they ask you to send an SMS (which they do not answer) and hang up.
