Who would've thought that getting your own money back from SARS that they owe you would be such a hastle. I have submitted my tax returns on the 10th of July 2014 with the expection that my tax refund would be in my account within 48 hours, however, to my demise, that was not the case. About a week later my refund was still not in my account, to which I decided to contact SARS, only to find out that I have to go to my nearest branch to confirm my banking details, which is exactly the same as last year, so the consultant advised me that SARS are open on Sat. But failed to inform me that they only do tax returns on a Sat.
So I went in on Sat. Only to find out that I will have to go in during the week. So I arrived at SARS Edenvale this morning at 7am, only to be shown to the door again as they do not except clothing accounts as a proof of residence, which I do not understand as I also pay tax on that and my entire credit record is on that address as well. I honestly think that they should change their slogan from: SARS - at your convenience to: SARS - Here to make your life difficult. Anyone whom has to deal with these incompetent, would understand.
