We bought new kitchenaid appliances including an electric range. When it was delivered and set up the installers tested the burners and a switch shorted out when the right front burner was turned on. Lowes had a repair service send man over and he ordered a new switch without making any test as to why it had shorted out. He ordered a new switch and installed it a week later and that switch too shorted out. He said he would order a new switch and burner but again made no tests as to what might be causing the problem.
I called Lowes and told them I wanted a different range and they sent a second range to the house. The second range had an oven door that would not close tight and all the heat came out the front of the oven. I went back to Lowes and asked for any range they sold that was NOT made in China. They also handle Bosch and Electrolux appliances made inGermany, so we now have an Electrolux range coming and hope we don't have any problems with our Kitchenaid dishwasher or microwave/exhaust fan unit or Whirlpool Refrigerator (also made in China). If you buy appliances watch out for any made in China, they evidently don't care what kind of product they sell and if you do buy a lemon, send it back!
Since the range was still in warranty Lowes did replace the range with the Electrolux range with no problems.
