Complaint / review text:
I moved into an Etchells &Young managed property in Ferndale at the beginning of March this year. Before that I had been living in Broadacres where my electricity bill averaged R500 a month. The fist month at the complex, my electricity bill was R661. I queried this and was told this was correct, even povided me meter readings. I have the exact same applicances and usage patterns, so what's going on? Not being used to paying this much for electricity, i changed my usage habits. Geyser only switched on an hour before use, all lights off unless I am in the room, blanket instead of heater etc. The next month my electricity bill climbed to R699, I complained again and was again furnished with "proof" of the reading. However the next month this doubled to R1326. I logged a call with the rental agent and was referred to Ronnie Maritz at Angor. I have not heard from him since. This month my electricity bill came, and its R1623. This is getting ridiculous and am at a point where i will not use electricity for a month to see what absurd amount they bill me next time. This is daylight!!!
