Two months ago ordered carpet installation for our guest house (bed and breakfast); spoke with sales rep who recommended high traffic carpet that was on special - free installation with all orders over $1500 included pad and carpet. Great. First the guy who measured the area did it wrong, excluded the staircase even though the order specified it; two more weeks go by; finally have a date for the installers to arrive. I paid help to have all furniture moved out. The guys arrive. No carpet pad. Home Depot claims I never ordered it (it was part of their 'special' deal that apparently everyone has forgotten about). Carpet installer insists that the 'manufacturer recommends glue'. Really? He called China? And who the hell glues a carpet down in a home with no carpet pad? Calls to Home Depot manager that this screw up is destroying my business for the next week are met with the response: 'well that's your problem'. Cancelled order.
I am sick of being treated like the 'stupid woman' when I go to purchase something at Home Depot - you know what - I am not stupid and my money is green. I want customer service and I want respect - something apparently Home Depot does not value. Going to Lowe's tomorrow - they are more expensive but Home Depot just cost me $1500 and I have no carpet.
