This year, I had purchased a new Samsung refrigerator (model #RS25H5121SR) from Home Depot on July 2014 and had it delivered and installed on September 2014. I was excited to get a new refrigerator. However, within 60 days I experienced a problem with the refrigerator. The refrigerator did not keep temperature. Both the refrigerator and freezer both did not cool and we lost our groceries for the first time. When I called Samsung service, they hung up on me twice! When I was finally able to reach a live person, they had us reset the refrigerator. We thought the problem was resolved. The resolution they provided lasted only until December.
I did my holiday grocery shopping for the holidays and was getting ready to celebrate with friends and family. Today on December 25,2014 we discovered that the refrigerator failed in a big way and I lost all my groceries and holiday meals. Both the refrigerator and freezer experienced a catastrophic failure and warmed up to 60 degrees. Needless to say everything in my freezer and refrigerator was a total loss.
Thinking this over, we have lost over groceries twice which cost more than what I paid for the refrigerator in the first place. My previous refrigerator lasted 20 years, without a problem. Now, my new refrigerator has failed twice in four months. I seriously am questioning the quality of this product and would like to make other people aware of the problem, so they do not waste their time and money. After this experience, I cannot recommend buying a Samsung refrigerator.
