Complaint / review text:
I always use the GE Longer Life soft white bulbs. I normally purchase them at Dollar General. I have this issue a lot and now after the same thing happen again a couple days ago, I decided to finally complain. I had 2 bulbs burned out in a ceiling light. I replaced both bulbs in the afternoon. The next morning when the light was turned on, one of the bulbs popped and burned out. I replaced it and the next morning the other newly replaced bulb burned out. I have this problem a lot. This particular light fixture is not easy to replace the bulbs in, which along with money down the drain, is extremely frustrating. I also deal with this in my ceiling fan light which uses the same bulbs. Why is this happening all the time? I'll replace a bulb one day and a day or 2 later the bulb is burned out. So frustrating!
These issues are bad enough, but now on to the dangerous stuff. I have a home daycare and twice I have had light bulbs in my daycare room ceiling fixture explode. Once with a child standing very near the light when it happened, which about gave me a heart attack. Fortunately the child was not hurt, but this light fixture sits right over a toy box packed full of toys. Imagine trying to clean bits of glass out of that and keep children away from the entire area while I inspected for bits of glass everywhere. This has happened 2 different times! I have used these bulbs for many years with no issues, but now it seems to be a common occurrence. Where is the quality control, and furthermore does anyone care??
