Bath Fitter installed their product in two of my 3 bathrooms in 2005. Although I was satisfied overall with the work completed at the time of completion, where they failed to meet their "lifetime" guarantee has cost me dearly, convinced me to shy away from overlaying of replacement tubs and spend the extra money removing their work. Five times in 10 years I called Bath Fitter regarding a crack in the upstairs shower, the problem has yet to be repaired, not a major problem but an inconvenience. However, when I called about the leaking and mold build-up around the bathtub they were quick to clean and re-putty the first floor bathtub, by the way the complaint about the crack in the upstairs shower was on the same work order. It was at a reasonable cost.
Recently my first floor bathtub was backed up. The plumber was unable to snake the drain because the "original" drain had not been removed by Bath Fitter thereby creating two drains, the original and the newer one. At an additional cost and work on the piping below the tub it was fixed. I will eventually replace what I had installed. I take responsibility for not knowing better and just decided to go the route of bathroom renewal by reputable contractors who truly back their work.
