Complaint / review text:
I had flooring installed in 2006. After about a month, the floors started to squeak. After complaining and working with the Home Depot for 2 years to correct the issue, they agreed to replace the floors after an independent inspector concluded there was an issue with installation.in September 2008, the same company that installed the floors came back and tore out the old floors and replaced them again. Unfortunately, the issues with the squeaky floors returned immediately. Again, I have been working to get this fixed, but the Home Depot has now sent me a letter stating, "We have found no liability on behalf of the Home Depot for your flooring’s squeak issues.”
I have had multiple flooring companies come to my home and state that they think the only way to correct the issue is to tear up the flooring again and to replace it. I have spent 3 years dealing with this! The flooring moves when you walk on it. I think that when they replaced the floor the second time, they did material damage to the subfloor, which has caused damage to the structure of the house. I have not been able to sell my house because potential buyers complain about the floors. The estimated cost to repair the floors is between $6000 and $8000.
