I purchased a Kenmore gas grill in 2013. I spent about $350 thinking I'd spend a little more and get a decent grill that would last a few years. Well think again! After only 2 years the bottom tray has rusted through, just like many other consumers who also bought Kenmore gas grills thinking they had a decent product. The model number of my grill is 148.23682310.
Now here's the kicker! After calling Kenmore numerous times and getting the run around, I finally talked to a rep that listened to my complaint and seemed to take it seriously. We set up an appointment for a service rep to come out and evaluate my grill. I'm thinking finally, Some results. The service guy came out this morning. He looked at my Obviously defective grill and told me, "It's not that bad" and it wasn't covered under the warranty.
I asked him if we were looking at the same rusted through holes in the tray that is the only barrier between the burner and the propane tank. He again said "It's not that bad" and then started to lecture me about grill cleaning. I cut him off and assured him we kept Very good care of our grill. Always cleaned and covered. Now, to add insult to injury he informed me there would be a service charge for his visit! I was floored! I politely told him I was not paying Sears a dime and that they could call me if there was a problem. UNREAL! Stay far away from Kenmore grills! Pony up a few more bucks and get a Weber like I wish I would have.
