I purchased a Kenmore Elite Ultraclean Dishwasher in October 2013. I was unhappy with the dishwasher from the beginning. I called Sears two times and spoke with someone at their customer support Center about the issues I was having with the dishwasher. It is not cleaning the silverware at all. When I take the knives out of the dishwasher, they have a black sticky substance on them that they did not have on them when I put them in the dishwasher. It is very hard to get off. The upper rack slides out every time you open the dishwasher and there is no way to adjust it to keep this from happening. This is SO frustrating because you have to hold the upper rack in with one hand while you put the dirty dishes in with the other hand or take the clean dishes out. It is really maddening.

I got no help from the support people at all. Their response about the black gunk was that I needed to run the water in the sink until it was very hot before I started the dishwasher each time!!! This is ridiculous and it also did nothing to correct the problem. As for the upper rack issue, they said there was no way to adjust it to make that stop. I HATE this dishwasher, but I paid too much for it to just chunk it and buy another one. Don't waste your money!!! I will NOT be buying another Kenmore dishwasher when I do replace it.
