Complaint / review text:
Please do not use this moving company. I would give zero stars if that was an option. When we called for the initial moving quote, we were given an estimate that was significantly less than what we were actual charged on the day of the move. When the movers arrived at our house, they adjusted our square footage which increased the cost by thousands of dollars more than the initial quote. At this point, we were helpless because we have already given them 1/3 of a non-refundable payment. The movers could barely speak English, so it was very difficult to communicate with them. Our belongings travelled up the east coast in a truck that had a broken back door with a very large hole in the corner of the top of the truck. Thank goodness it did not rain during the travel or all of our belongings would have been destroyed with water damage. The movers were very careless and disrespectful with our belongings.
This company is not insured!!! The contract says they will give your 0.60 cents per pound for damage - which is nothing!!! The fine print for the insurance states it does not cover scratches, dents, chips (which is not given to you until after the move) and the movers could care less about damaging your property. All the staff at Long Distance Van Lines, to include sales, customer service, and the claims department are unprofessional and rude. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY if you care about your personal belongings.
