My DC28 Animal will lose its suction when canister is only 1/3 full. Dyson people are helpful on the telephone, but end result, get a service man. I had it spotless and filters washed and sun dried, still lost its suction. Then I examined the brush roller and wondered how I would replace it if need be. I could not see how it could be removed for replacement, so I contacted Dyson and was informed that the roller alone is not replaceable, the entire head must be replaced and to be done by a service man. Dyson never revealed the price of an entire head nor the cost of the service.
After my purchase price of $800.00 with tax, and now I am told that I am unable to change out a simple brush roller. All the hype of Dyson advertising such a revolutionary vacuum, I must warn that if you are buying a new vac, look elsewhere. There are vacuums today that the capabilities to clean are as good or better for less than 1/2 the price. Also, I bet you will be able to change out the roller without calling a service man!
