Complaint / review text:
Purchased Viking electric cook-top in 2004. Silk Screening came off about 6 months later. Viking replaced part and labor at no charge; identical thing happened two more times; part and labor at no charge. When I called Viking this time about the silk screening, they informed me that they are now using a new system of "etching" to indicate the temperature by the knobs.
They are now willing to replace the "part" for free but not the labor. Labor $379.00 from Northtown Home Services; I talked to Northtown and they are willing to waive the initial $119.00 to "see the what problem" is since they've been here so many times before. That leaves $260.00 for me to pick up. They were selling a defective product for years and darn well knew it. Why would a company replace something 3 times at no charge if they thought the customer was abusing the silk screening with harsh cleansers. I want Viking to absorb the $260.00 labor. What a joke.
