Unit purchased new in 8/08. New fan motor and capacitor...

Unit purchased new in 8/08. New fan motor and capacitor in 12/2010, R22 was low. Tech added 5 1/2011, coils had holes. Tech replaced both coils and more R22 at $45/lb. Labor and coolant charges $760 on 6/2/2011. Bad fan motor and capacitor. Replaced both $250 labor. On 6/4/2011, fan motor bad and re-replaced. On 6/8/2011, unit is not cooling. It needs new compressor and more R22 at $45/lb. I don't know how much the labor will be but we're close to $1500 I'm sure by the time it's done. What else is left to break? This unit was defective from the factory. Nordyne refuses to cover labor or R22 which leaked due to their defective parts.

My husband is a disabled Vietnam veteran. We lived on a fixed income. He cannot be without a/c. We live in Florida. Nordyne customer service laughs at you when you call them. They are all rude and nasty. Their own employees posted a blog on the internet stating that Nordyne has trailer loads of defective units in their yard and they are selling them as new. Unfortunately, many people are on the receiving end of their garbage. We cannot spend anymore money on this. We are now going to have to try to purchase a new unit to replace this one but we can't afford it. Someone needs to start a class action against this company.
