Complaint / review text:
My husband and I purchased flooring from lumber liquidator this past Saturday in Fairfield, NJ. When we were placing the order we gave the gentleman a rough dimension of the room. When he plugged our numbers in it showed up as 245 sq. Feet. So, great. We order the 10 boxes of laminate flooring and said if we have extra we can just return it. We said it directly to the gentlemen who sold us the floor. We installed the flooring on Monday of this week. So today, Thursday, I had 2 boxes left over as well as a laminate divider. Well, when I went into Lumber Liquidators this am to return my 2 left over boxes and the floor divider, I was told that they do not accept returns on laminate flooring.
No one told us this at the time of purchase. No one had us sign the page that stated the return policy and what I don't get is they took the divider back but wouldn't take back the 2 perfectly good boxes of laminate flooring. They stated they can't tell if it's been damaged! They wouldn't even look at the box. Every other store you can return flooring even if you have to pay a restocking fee, but like I said no one ever specified to us that we couldn't return laminate flooring. At a quick glance we saw 30 money back. This is just not right. The sales person did not tell us that we couldn't return it and did not explain the policy. I have to wait 24 hours to hear back from their customer service department. I am so angry and dissatisfied with this company with not pre advising us regarding the no return policy on laminate. They had it in stock. I would have taken only 8 boxes instead of 10 and would have gone back if I had needed more. Please help. We weren't even told to initial the page that has their return instructions.
