Complaint / review text:
I had a new powder room remodel one year ago. The supplier highly recommended Kohler even though I had an old toilet from the 80s that took two flushes for solid waste to be flushed. Kohler always seemed like a great name in the business and I thought, Great, they've improved their product to maintain that good name. However, suddenly the toilet began leaking. My remodeler came in and reset the toilet on a new wax ring thinking it had failed somehow. Thing is, the seal looked good and well seated. The next day I called him and said, "It's leaking again." I had company coming and needed that extra toilet in the house. Just to be sure I called a plumber instead. He came in with a little different ring and checked the outlet to the toilet for cracks. It looked okay. So he replaced it and off we went. But no... I hadn't even used the toilet that day and it was once again leaking! Becoming frustrated, I called him back and he went over the toilet with a fine-toothed comb so to speak.
Finally he found the problem. Under the bowl, nowhere near the flange that attaches to the wax ring, there is a white "plug" that repaired some kind of breach in the porcelain. IT WAS THAT which was leaking. Now to Kohler I go for replacement. To tell the truth, I would rather go with another company's product. But since this was such a recent purchase I'm going to seek restitution. From prior reviews, I'm praying I can get assistance.
