My husband and I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in December of 2011. Model RFG298HD, Serial Number-176542BBA00870F. The refrigerator was not even two years and a part had to be replaced. When we made the appointment with Golden In-Home Service the receptionist told and the repair told us the part that had to be replaced called the Drain Clip known as the D-Clip that from previous models was too small for the coils to work properly. The result is that ice builds up in the freezer and you cannot open the bottom draw easily. It also causes water to form under the refrigerator. It seems that this is the case with my Samsung and the problem was not corrected. I do not think it's fair for me to have to pay $170.00 for a part that has been a problem before. I had a Whirlpool refrigerator for seventeen years and had the repairman there once, and that was towards the last two years, and it was still working when I sold my house.
I know I was past the warranty period but I do not have the confidence in Samsung and will make my concerns know to anyone who asks my opinion. I have already had another repair turn me down because he said Samsung are difficult to work with and I would not find someone in the area who would work on it. I am very sorry that I brought a Samsung and did not go back to a Whirlpool. Yes there are no repairmen in the area. I feel I should be re-reimbursed. Very disappointed.
