Complaint / review text:
In March of 2014 we purchased a unit from Balwin Properties at De Velde_Somerset West to the value of R 849,900, as we were moving down from Johannesburg. Balwin personnel pushed real hard to have us pay immediately the deposit of R 20,000 to secure the unit. Once the Offer To Purchase was completed pressure was put on us by Amber Heywood to pay the outstanding R 829,900 before end of March 2014 to enable Balwin to include our unit for registration end of March 2014, which we duly did and paid the money (Cash) over to the transferring Attorneys, (Tonkin & Clacey_Rosebank). To date the unit has not been registered and we are forced to pay occupational rent on a property we have purchased cash! Having spoken to a number of residents it is evident this is a ploy used by Balwin to garner more cash out of unsuspecting residents. Balwin keeps on blaming the local Council for not being able to register. Being the Consumer this situation was never pointed out to us until the monthly invoices started arriving demanding occupational rent! And Balwin is sitting pretty with our cash in their attorney's account earning interest for them every month!!!
