I am utterly disgusted by what I have just experienced with Multichoice.
I have been a loyal customer for about 8 years now and my account is always paid in full and on time!
On the 23 September 2014 I requested to cancel my DSTV service and stop my debit order. I was then explained to by the consultant I was dealing with that they could only request the deactivation 1 day before the payment comes off. Concerned I still confirmed that my account would not get debited again (you pay in advance for (DSTV). Today, my fears became reality, my account was debited once again. I immediately called the call centre, were the automated voice told me I no longer have an account with Multichoice. I still went through to a consultant and explained my situation. She explained to me that the debit order came off because the debit order is requested 3 days before the payment comes off. I have no idea why my debit order was not cancelled and why they requested the debit order. Anyway, I have hence requested an immediate refund to which I was told it would take at least 7 working days because they have to wait 5 days for the bank and 7 days for the money to clear as they are with a different bank
