I purchased 4 Yankee opening day tickets from Stubhub. I was directed to their website from the Yankee website. My husband and two sons are big baseball fans. I paid $1324.88 for 4 bleacher tickets to be there on opening day because of the significance of the new stadium. I received notice my tickets were ready as e-tickets only, and that there would be no actual ticket for us. I paid $1324.88 for 4 tickets with a $25 value each and we want the actual tickets for keepsake.
The supervisor at Stubhub told me at first that there are not actual tickets they are all e-tickets now a decision that was made in conjunction with MLB and Stubhub, then he later said the original owner has the tickets but they didn't sell me the tickets, they just sold me entrance to the event. I have purchase tickets this way in the past and the e-tickets are then handed in at the stadium for a actual ticket. Why is this time different (because of the significance of the game?) that is not fair.
I spent a lot of money for these tickets and they want to save the actual ticket from this special day. Actual tickets to this game are out there, where are mine. If MLB can issue a e-ticket they can issue my real tickets. Part of the reason for paying such a fee for this event is to have the actual ticket stub from the first game ever played in the stadium. I am outraged. I don't even understand how now there are two sets of these tickets for the same seats.
Stubhub said this is a joint decision between them and MLB and that they would be saving the Fed-X fees and just printing them out on the computer. I offered to pay FedEx fee as well and get the ticket. I paid a lot of money for 4 tickets to opening day and would just like to have the tickets. My sons have their tickets from Home Run Derby at the old stadium and want these from the first day in the new stadium and I am sure we are not the only fans upset.
