In September, I purchased tickets for the NHL Winter Classic on January 1 to surprise my husband at Christmas in honor of his upcoming milestone birthday. The game was a quick sell-out.
I selected them from Vivid Seats (VS) because they were high enough, behind a goal, to provide a good view of the whole rink and were under cover in case of rain/snow. I paid over $1200 for 2 tickets. I was advised that the tickets would be provided within the week before the game. On Christmas Eve, I received an email telling me to call VS about my tickets.
I was informed that the tickets that I had purchased were "not available"!!! The only choices that were now available were on the corner and 5 rows from the front, providing no view of the ice. I protested that these seats were nowhere near as good as the ones I had ordered and were clearly less expensive than what I had paid. My "take-it-or-leave-it" option was to take the seats and a $150 credit.
The face value of the tickets that I received were $79 each.
My conclusion is that Vivid Seats sells tickets that they do not have title to. Do not use Vivid Seats.
