I used TicketsNow to buy tickets for the Aug. 7 Jason Mraz concert at Jones Beach. It appeared to be the only way that I could get seats at all even though I tried to get seats soon after the concert tickets were purportedly available. I ended up paying $81 each for 2 tickets, plus $12.15 each for "service charge" and $14.95 for shipping for a total of $201.25. When I received the tickets in the mail, they were sold originally for $39 each. I don't mind TicketsNow making a fair profit and even paying the cost of shipping, but it is clear that they must either buy big blocks of tickets and/or using private individuals to do it (with these individuals receiving some kickback to go online to do it).
At the concert, there were plenty of empty seats up the "cheap" seats where my daughter and I sat, as well as below. The concert was not "sold out" as it had been hawked. Ushers were selling upgrades for $10 all over the place. I want to save future ticket buyers the outrage of paying unreasonable prices. TicketsNow charged us double the ticket price and a service charge on top of that. This is outrageous. Please do your best to stop this practice.
