I signed up for a 30-day free trial of Netflix. About three days before the trial ended, I cancelled the subscription. However, the cancellation was never activated by Netflix.netflix continued to bill my account and I did not notice it for a few months. The problem is that Netflix gives no clear directions on how to cancel the supposedly free trial. I'm sure that many subscribers to the free trial end up getting billed for at least one month even if they think that they have cancelled within the allowed period.
For any new subscribers to a Netflix free trial, I recommend that they go through the motion of cancellation immediately after they sign up. If the directions to cancel are clear, then just stop before completion. But if the directions are not clear and they decide to really cancel, they will be warned early enough to notify their credit card company of the potential problem.netflix should be investigated for false advertising. Their claim that you can cancel at any time during the free trial is made invalid because they do not provide a reasonable method to do so. The subscriber thinks that the account was cancelled, but it wasn't according to Netflix.
