Brides beware! On the day of my wedding, Lisa, the head officiant for Liberty Weddings, DID NOT SHOW UP.in addition, neither she nor owner Stacy, made any attempt to notify us that Lisa was unable to officiate our wedding, even after Lisa confirmed less than a week prior with me via email. I called both Lisa and Stacy relentlessly minutes before our ceremony and neither one answered any phone call that I placed. Furthermore, no attempt was made to find a replacement officiant by Liberty Weddings.
We were later told that Lisa was unable to officiate due to an emergency on the day, however Stacy was very nonchalant in that she was out of town and unable to answer her office phone. If you own an event-oriented company you are ALWAYS on call, and if you make a promise to make “every effort” to find a backup in your contract, then you are obligated to try. We had even specifically asked about backups and were assured that there were 2 backups available in the event that anything should happen.
After reading several reviews on other platforms, it appears that we are not the only couple that has been victim to Liberty Weddings not showing up on their wedding day.
Simply Put: You can hire a company that is going to show up and do their job on your big day, or you can hire a company that is going to go above and beyond for you in the event that something MAY go wrong. LIBERTY WEDDINGS IS NEITHER OF THESE! You literally cannot get married without an officiant, so think long and hard about who you hire. Pay the extra money and find someone that is reliable and truly cares about your special day. You don’t want the embarrassment of having to tell your guests that you don’t have someone to marry you, like we did.
