During a very difficult period in our lives (my mother-in-law unexpectedly died the night before), we experienced alarm failure on Friday 2014-06-07 at around 09:00am. We were in the house and thus the alarm was not activated, but it kept on being triggered. We could not stop the alarm by any means possible. Only after ADT phoned to enquire about the alarm, did the lady on the phone tell me to disconnect both the mains and battery supply. I told her about the faulty system and she informed me that a technician will only be able to come and inspect the alarm system on Tuesday 2014-06-10. I reluctantly agreed because we will be without an alarm system over the weekend. She said that extra patrols will be done to compensate for the faulty alarm, but it will not help as we are situated at the back of a complex with no visibility or access to our unit (thus we had to install an alarm). Up until today no technician has come to inspect the alarm, nor has anybody from ADT contacted me to explain the situation. What is the use of having an alarm system and not be able to use it? Never mind the fact that we pay for the service.
