I recently purchased a ring for my wife from NWJ - Northgate. When purchasing the ring I was told I could bring it back for re-sizing and the assistant mentioned that she will give me the valuation certificate. Nothing was mentioned about paying for re-sizing. When we went back on Sunday 2nd November the assistant indicated that I need to pay for the re-sizing as the they needed to size down by 5 ring sizes. Firstly what difference is it if you re-size by 2 or 5 sizes. Why should I now pay almost R300 to re-size a ring? If that's the case then maybe NWJ should carry the same ring in all possible sizes (unreasonable I know, but so is paying for re-sizing a ring I have already paid for). Other jewelry stores have never charged us for re-sizing. I also understand that different companies have different policies, but if this is your policy, please make sure the staff working in-store inform clients when purchasing.
