JoAnn.com is absolutely the worst on-line retailer that I have ever ordered from. I will not be back, no matter how many free shipping coupons they send me.
On Nov. 29, JoAnn.com ran a 70% off sale for fleece. What a disaster! I spent several hours going through their site & creating an order in my cart on Nov 28.
On Nov. 29, I verified that everything was still "In Stock" & placed my order. I received an acknowledgement that my order was received for 25 styles of fleece totalling 83 yards. That was the last good thing that happened.
On Dec. 3rd, I received an email stating my order had shipped followed by a second email stating that 9 styles of fleece totalling 34 yards had been cancelled due to being out of stock (about 1/3 of my order). I checked their website & all items still showed as "In Stock." I sent them an email asking why my order was cancelled if all items are in stock. I received an reply on Dec 5th which said: "Thank you for contacting Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Customer Service.
Please be assured, your concerns are important to us, and we will respond to your email in the order it was received." Finally on Dec 9th, 4 days later, I received another email saying, "We apologize that your item was unexpectedly out of stock. You were not charged nor will you receive it. If you would like to reorder this when back in stock please call the number listed below with your original order number and we would be happy to honor the original sale price and free shipping. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you." So on Dec 9th, I again checked the website's inventory and all items were still "In Stock." I called the number & spoke to a customer service representative who placed an order for the cancelled items.
Her computer showed the items as "In Stock" too. On Dec 10th I received an acknowledgement that my order was received. On Dec 11th, I received another email that my order had shipped followed by a second email that of my 9 item order, 7 were cancelled due to being "Out-of-stock." Basically, they never had the items, nor are they likely to. When I finally received the 16 items they did ship, the lengths were completely different than the amounts on my order.
Two were several inches shorter than my request, one as much as 6 inches. Another item was dirty. A fourth item was 2 yards more than I ordered (Good for me, but explains why they have shortages.) So out of a 25 item order, only 12 were somewhat satisfactory. I also went to their website to check the status of my order and to see what was billed on my credit card.
They only show the original order for the 25 items which currently shows a status of "Pending." No where could I find the actual amounts billed to my credit card. Also the second order is nowhere to be found. Absolutely avoid JoAnn.com if you can. Their customer service is poor (4 days to reply is far too long.).
Their inventory control is beyond poor (items showing as in stock when they aren't).
Verification of amounts actually charged to your credit card is non-existant. This company really needs a major overhaul or takeover.
