Complaint / review text:
I was sent an SMS from TGF with a voucher code. This was positioned as a birthday reward. I was sent this 2 Jan with an expiry of 31 Jan. I would also like to mention that there were no terms and conditions specified on the SMS whatsoever. I would also like to mention that this was the 2nd SMS sent - it was an apology as the first code sent was apparently incorrect.
I went into @Home to buy cupcake holders and a gift card. They didn't have the holders so I just bought the gift card. I gave my phone with the SMS to the staff member. He kept my phone for a long time and simply kept re-entering the voucher code and telling me it didn't work. 10 minutes in I was getting visually frustrated. A so-called manager came up and did the same thing. Entered the code off my phone. Gave me the phone back and then had me read it to her. After another 5 minutes of this I again asked what the solution was as simply re-entering a faulty number was getting nowhere. She then looked at the purchase and said, oh this isn't valid for a gift card anyway! So firstly they wasted my time and secondly there were no T&C's.
Attitude of staff was shocking. I also ask why send a voucher you can't honor?
