Complaint / review text:
On Saturday, May 23,2015. I was in your store located at 2325 S Stemmons in Lewisville, Texas.
I was disappointed to find insufficient staffing on a holiday week-end; when shoppers are out to take advantage of advertised holiday savings. There were at least 10-15 people waiting for service in the fabric department. There was “one” Hobby Lobby employee serving the department. The employee sensed the frustration of some of the customers waiting for service and attempted to get the attention of a person who I assume was a manager.
He wasn’t close enough for me to identify the name on his gold name tag. He looked straight at her and kept walking. Although, he didn’t say anything specific to acknowledge he would send someone to assist. I assumed he would, because I’m certain he saw the employee wave to get his attention, and the need for additional customer service was obvious.
When help didn’t arrive after a few moments, the fabric department employee called for assistance on her walkie talkie. No one responded or arrived to help during the time I continued to wait. The woman remained calm and cordial with a smile while she continued doing all she could to move things along without becoming frantic. As I approached the head of the line, I was able to read her name tag, “Janelle”.
Appropriately professional, Janelle apologized and thanked the customers for their patience. While the woman attended to my fabric order, I found her to be very personable and witty. It was evident that she is quite sharp and strives to provide a high standard of providing the best customer service; a valuable asset to company success. This is particularly critical in this era where customers are often more empowered than the companies with which they interact, due to access to digital services.
In spite of the time waiting, I had an excellent shopping experience because of Janelle. If my husband weren’t retired from his business, she’s the type of employee I would suggest he consider to employ.
Janelle should stand as an example to less motivated employees.
