Complaint / review text:
Avoid eBay at all costs. I listed and sold my first and only item in September. From the moment the offer was made I had my doubts. Should have listened to my gut... Yesterday (Oct 18) the so called buyer was given her money back... What! Well seems the item arrived slightly damaged even though it cost $150 to ship via UPS. We have been working with UPS to get her money for the damage and she has stated it was UPS' fault... UPS agreed and was sending her the money. She didn't get it fast enough for her, so she complained to eBay and they gave her back all her money.
PayPal (the payment arm of eBay) took the money directly out of my checking account without my authority. My profit went from $111 to a big negative $190.98. Doesn't seem eBay cares about sellers, only buyers. The item was not new, but 24 years old and used. The original ad specified some damage to pedestal... She claimed item was not what was presented, but pictures show it was exactly what she bought. I have been given the run around and platitudes from eBay and PayPal, but the final verdict always sides with the buyer, no matter the proof.
