Complaint / review text:
I ordered two "Fireside Sympathy Baskets". One from my mother with red roses and one from me with white roses for my Dad's funeral. I know I should have called a local florist but jumping on-line and ordering seemed like one less thing to have to worry about at the time. The flowers arrived on time to the funeral home and the funeral director actually put them behind the casket! The red roses were fully opened and I was sure would not last that long. There was no baby's breath or filler flowers. The white roses, also not containing any baby's breath or filler were wilted, petals falling and brown on the edges.
Neither "bouquet" was actually in a basket, as described, but in a typical plastic bucket. They neglected to put a ribbon of any kind on either, (although I had an "on-line" chat with customer service at the time of placing my order requesting ribbons that said, "Husband" and "Dad") There was no card or markings of any kind to let me know who the local florist was so that I could express my grievance directly. I have contacted 1-800-flowers customer service dept twice so far by e-mail but have not received any acknowledgment from them. The cost all tolled with delivery was $274.09. I could have run to the local grocery store and done much better!
