I purchased a Fisher and Paykel fridge model e52213. We had issues with the ice machine not working and then the water dispenser stopped working shortly after buying the fridge. The fridge technician could not isolate the problem. We had ongoing problems with ice temperature and back light display. I sourced the issue with the fridge myself due to the smell of burning wires in the top of the door. I noticed that the wire has no second insulation and that the action of the door could wear or cut by crimping in this area. Three of the wires on our unit have been cut and the other wires are bare. I feel this could be the cause of problems for a lot of other people with this model fridge with ongoing beeping and flashing lights and no temp control. Our fridge is just out of warranty but if the wires had not rubbed or crimped, our fridge would still be operating. I feel this is a design hazard rather than a warranty issue. Our fridge is a right to left opening model. I am not sure if this would make a difference. Looking forward to your response.
