American Mint swindles elderly - My 90 year old uncle received information from American Mint in the mail that was addressed to his deceased brother. He was interested in some of the products, so he purchased something. Then the trouble began. They kept sending him products that he didn't remember ordering, then charged him for it. He contacted American Mint and they told him everything was fine, but then he received more bills. He refused to pay and finally, the bill was turned over to a collection agency. I think he owed around $60, but after months of late payments and collection agency fees he owed over $120. Finally, his sister just paid the bill, to stop the harassing letters. American Mint preys on the elderly who can't read all the fine print. My uncle may have owed them for something, but these companies should not send products unless they are ordered. It was very difficult to try to track what my uncle actually ordered, what he actually received or what he had paid for.
