I pay my Macy's bill on-line. On my last on-line payment Macy's took more from my checking account than what I authorized-this resulted in 3 overdraft fees from my bank.
I called customer service. They sent me a check for the overdraft fees (without asking for proof of what these fees were) and also sent me a check for the difference of what I authorized and what they actually took from my bank account. The problem came when I requested a letter saying that it was their error that caused the overdraft fees to my checking account-I did not want my credit affected by their mistake. Customer service reps and supervisors would do nothing.
I got a hold of a manager. I was then told that if I sent them proof from my bank of the overdraft fees and the proof from my on-line payment of what I authorized for payment that they would then sent me a letter. I sent the proof via mail AND fax. They have done nothing.
My phone calls are not returned. I went to our local Macy's and talked to a store manager about my problem. He made some calls-but he hasn't done much and has not returned my call.
I have paid off my Macy's charge bill and will not shop there again. Not only do they have a horrible customer service department, but I don't think much of a company that will not own up to their mistakes.
