Complaint / review text:
I ordered a pair of Uggs slippers for my father as a birthday gift. I ordered it in size 14, in brown leather, but ended up getting the item in black suede.
I normally wouldn't care about such things, but when you spend $130 for a pair of shoes, you're sure you should get the right color and fabric material.
Anyways, they shipped me the wrong item not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. After seeing the same incorrect item three times, I was able to compare all of them, and realized that one of the pairs was clearly used (different box, was missing the cardboard shoe tree, was missing labels).
Be careful. You are not always getting a "new" item. Sometimes they are items that have been worn or used.
Quality control is clearly abysmal at Zappos but it doesn't surprise me as they now use underpaid temps to do a lot of their dirty work in that hot Louisville, Kentucky factory. Maybe if they paid those temps a higher wage then maybe they would be as giddy and cheery as the corporate employees in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the end, I will say, however, that Zappos did offer me a coupon for $50, which is better than nothing, but that means nothing to me. Birthdays come once a year for your precious ones, and Zappos screwed things up big time.
I'm not sure where all the praise for Zappos comes from, but it's abundantly clear that it's frankly overrated if A) you can't get what you need in a reasonable amount of time & B) quality control is non-existent.
What a huge disappointment, and a waste of precious time.
