We were replacing a 4 year old Whirlpool Duet washer (bought on recommendation from sister-in-law) that needed the third repair and was putting holes in our clothes. We had purchased the warranty (which we had never done before) so Lowe's gave us the choice of machines and we decided to go with the Maytag Bravos. Lo and behold, we're still getting holes in clothes. Several repairman told us the issue is common and is caused by the force of the water flowing into the machines plus the rapid spin cycle which pushes the clothes through the punched holes in the tub and the clothes catch on the metal on opposite side of the tub. Turns out sister-in-law had the same problem with her Duet and (not knowing I bought the Bravos and had the same issues) bought the Bravos and also is still getting holes. So I know it's not just me.
We also have problem with the machine not putting in enough water so clothes do not come out clean.in fact, a lot of stuff comes out with areas that haven't even gotten wet during the wash cycle. I just want an old fashioned machine with an agitator that fills the machine fully, washes my clothes and doesn't put holes in them.
