Complaint / review text:
I am a current employee at Winn Dixie. I recently had a child and my wife was on her FMLA. She was staying at home to take care of our newborn and to heal. I told my department manager that my wife would be going back to work in one month. She went on vacation and left an employee who is not even a lead in charge. He produced the new schedule. I was given only 8 hours for the week and they had people that do not even work in my department making more hours in the department than me. I of course was upset by this.
I asked the manager on duty why this was happening? I got no response. I asked the person that produced the schedule and was told I'm being punished for placing my newborn baby above my job and informing them that in the upcoming weeks I needed my availability changed. That's not right. I went to HR about this and was placated. They did nothing at all to fix this issue. I cant help but feel if I were a woman this would not stand. This is discrimination and mistreatment.
